Full year back as old-school blogger

Dateline: 03 September 2018, Tagaytay City, Cavite

I celebrate one year of going back to old-school blogging. On September 2017, I started writing again in a space I could call my own - a distinct distance away from the madding crowd of SocMed - via Google Sites. The rest of this origins tale will have to be told some other time.

Had to emphasize "old school" here to differentiate with what in the past three or four years witnessed as abuse of the Internet, especially SocMed. The difference I guess in being "old school" are two sides of the same coin: the intent of publishing personal writings and expectations to readership. On both sides, though, "old school" bears some sense of moderation (and a dash of smug leave-me-be attitude).

Still, I got nervous. The workload last month threatened to crush once again my personal commitment to go back to blogging, to blog at a regular pace, and to get that regular pace to last for more than 12 months. Most of August's blogs - the total was a significant dip from July - were antedated, mostly posted on the remaining days of the month (and honestly, including the first two days of September).

But I'm glad to realize, even for seemingly thankless and uncompensated endeavors like old-school blogging, I still found myself able to steel in focus for rush production. Just like in college when rushing for exams and papers. Just like in the old days of event management work in the PR and advertising agency. The only compensation I get from this old-school blogging is regain of my humanity through writing in the first voice, and writing about personal delights in self-discovery.

So there. Happy anniversary to liwaliw, and its packages of HereNow, Memories, Pages, Visuals and Sounds. Though I won't be able to hide a cutey doggy in my work desk's side table drawer, at least, I have this video snip to lighten up dreary demanding days.
